Belvin's Bandwagon - Week 7 New York Rangers

Hello hockey fans it’s time for this week’s Belvin’s Bandwagon! For any of you who are new this is when I discuss who is my favorite on the New York Rangers for this week, and who is my least favorite for this week. We have four games to go off of this week, Monday’s 4-3 shootout loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Wednesday’s victory against the Chicago Blackhawks, Friday’s victory against the Dallas Stars, and last night’s win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Well let’s get right down to it.

Like: Rick Nash, Chris Kreider, and Henrik Lundqvist. Rick Nash has finally gotten on my good side, this week we’ve really seen him step his game up and turn into the goal scorer that we expect to see. He has four points in this week’s four games, all coming as goals. Nash scored the game winning goal on Friday against the Stars and on Sunday against the Flyers. Hopefully he can continue this play for the Rangers if the team hopes to separate itself from their competition in the Metropolitan Division standings. Next Chris Kreider has again come to impress me this week, he is currently averaging a point per game after adding two more last night against the Flyers. He is tied for third in points for the Rangers and he comes to play every single night. Last but not least Henrik Lundqvist is also on my good side for this week as he’s finally gotten back to form. Lundqvist has made 132 saves on 140 shots in the four games this week and has finally broken the slump that we’ve seen him in this season.

Dislike: Derek Stepan. Now, it isn’t that Stepan isn’t producing because he is currently tied for third in points on the Rangers, I just don’t think he is producing enough. He is slowly starting to find his game but he still looks slow and somewhat useless. Stepan has only one point for the Rangers in this week’s four games, coming as an assist on Friday night against the Stars. While almost the entire Rangers roster seems to have picked up its play as of late, Stepan seems to be one step behind everyone else; maybe a certain someone shouldn’t have held out for a few spare pennies and missed training camp.

Anyway, that’s this week’s bandwagon! Let us know what you think by commenting below or by tweeting @bluelinestation or @kennybelvin with #BelvinsBandwagon.
