New York Rangers' Blueshirts Daily: 1/20/14

Monday morning isn’t so bad after two back to back wins! Last night, the Rangers split the series against the Washington Capitals at two games each. The Rangers posted a convincing win of 4-1. The Rangers scored four goal in both back to back games and three times in the last five games!

Henrik Lundqvist started the season slow and has now gotten back to playing his own game.  He’s a goal line goal tender doing what he does best, and being very successful. In his last two games, Lundqvist has allowed only one goal. That one goal was Alex Ovechkin‘s first against the Rangers since before last year’s playoffs.

Also getting back to his game, is Rick Nash. His recent surge is hard to deny, and Nash has finally gotten the team’s offense on track. This is a good thing, given his contract. At times it’s easy to forget that Nash has played considerably fewer games than the rest of the team.

Before Nash there was another player pushing forward and setting the pace for the Rangers. That player is Benoit Pouliot. He and his line mates, Mats Zuccarello and Derick Brassard, are where the majority of team’s scoring has originated. This is a line of deep talent and skill.

With everything that happened in last night’s game, it’s never wrong to watch our #CaptainCally burry a short-handed goal.
