New York Rangers' Blueshirts Daily: 1/24/14

Well, the New York Rangers didn’t get the two points last night, but at least today is Friday. I know we didn’t get the daily links up yesterday, and I appologize. I was recovering from wrist surgery if that’s any consolation to you. Without further ado, here are today’s links, and maybe a little something that would have been up yesterday.

As we all know, Michael Del Zotto was traded for Kevin Klein. Everyone has a different take on trades. You’ve read a couple of points of view on our site, this one is less emotional and more about the numbers. One thing of note regarding searches for trade news; everything comes up tauting Del Zotto as the larger name in the trade. Klein is definitely the quieter player of the two. Pat Leonard always has good insight on things, this is no different.

Brian Boyle is a player who flies under the radar quite frequently so it’s always nice to see him get the spotlight for a change. Here’s a nice little piece reminding everyone how much hockey sense Boyle really has going for him.

This goes back a couple days, but it’s a good look at what happened against the New york Islanders. it was a painful loss but hopefully a learning experience before the Stadium Series games.

At this point the Rangers are preparing to play outside. The Stadium Series is almost here! First we play the New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon, then the New York Islanders next Wednesday night. Experience from playing outside is on the Rangers’ side but you never know what fate has in store. It’s a whole different ball game at the Stadium.
