Hello New York Rangers fans! It’s time for another installment of Belvin’s Bandwagon, this week’s piece is going to be short, because there are only two games to go off of, Wednesday’s outdoor 2-1 victory against the New York Islanders, and Friday’s indoor 4-1 victory against the same Islander squad. So without waiting any longer, lets get right down to it.
LIKE: Derick Brassard and Henrik Lundqvist. Of all the Rangers skaters Brassard has been my favorite over the last two games, he had an assist in the game tying goal on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium. He also had the game winning goal on Friday night at Madison Square Garden against the Islanders. Brassard’s game has really improved for the Rangers this season, and his success is more and more contributing to the overall team success. Brassard works well with his line-mates and as I’ve said before the chemistry contributes greatly to turning the Rangers third line into a legitimate threat. Next, Henrik Lundqvist has been extremely solid these last two games, letting in only two goals in as many games and had save percentages of above .950 in the two contests. Lundqvist has gotten hot and is ready to represent Team Sweden in the Olympics, and if all goes well will come back even hotter than he went. I’m happy to see his return to form.
DISLIKE: For any of you who are new, each week I talk about player(s) I like and players I dislike, this week however is going to be different. I cannot find anyone on the Rangers roster who I dislike. The team is playing so well lately, they’re playing good defense, they’re playing good offense, Lundqvist is solid in net. The Rangers are on a roll and they seemed determined to capture second place in the Metropolitan Division, if the team keeps this up we could see a very exciting close to the season and if I can keep the dislike column empty for a few weeks then so be it.
