Rangers’ Blueshirts Daily: 2/7/14

Well, what do you say about last night’s Rangers game? Clearly Edmonton made some great trade moves and their youth has started to hit their stride. Ben Scrivens wasn’t playing too poorly, despite looking shaky with the puck. We did see a long over due goal from Derick Brassard, and a Brian Boyle goal feels like it’s coming. The only thing to do now is to prepare for tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Ryan Callahan rumors have been everywhere. Here’s a little more solid information coming from those in the know. I guess we might hear more about that sometime today or tomorrow.

For those who didn’t know, former Rangers’ defenseman Steve Eminger is back playing in the United States again. After the Rangers decided not to resign Eminger as an unrestricted free agent last summer, Eminger went to Russia. He signed a one year deal to play, but was placed on waivers last month. Now Eminger is back in the US as a member of the Anaheim Ducks organization. He was assigned to the AHL Norfolk Admirals after clearing waivers. He’s even posted a goal already.

Gearing up for tonight’s game against the Penguins, brings to mind a roster move earlier this season. Taylor Pyatt is now a Penguin, who remains a part of the team despite several of their recent trades. By all accounts, the Penguins have been satisfied and even surprised with Pyatt’s performance there. Unfortunately, we won’t get to see what the move has done for Pyatt as he will miss tonight’s game after suffering a lower body injury on Monday night.

The Hartford Wolf Pack are on the road this weekend to face the Norfolk Admirals; the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. They play tonight at 7:30 and tomorrow night at 7:15.

There are your daily links. A little more than usual but its a busy day. REMINDER! The Olympic roster freeze is set for 3:pm ET TODAY. Things could get interesting… Go enjoy your Friday and get pumped for tonight!
