Olympics Digest: Sochi, Russia

Good Morning everyone! It’s another beautiful day and we are getting closer to the men’s Olympic hockey tournament. Let’s get into the links so we can keep going with the Olympic coverage.

In the women’s hockey tournament, Team USA is showing why they are the reigning Olympic champions. In their second match of the tournament, Team USA defeated Switzerland 9-0.

Team Canada is in the same group as Team USA and they have played the same teams in reverse order. Team Canada has the same record as Team USA with less of a margin. Many believe that the women’s tournament will be decided between these two teams; who face each other on the ice tomorrow, 12 February. Team Finland has other ideas in mind and clearly intends to make their presence known, or at least felt, by the opposition.

Yesterday the NHL players began arriving in Sochi and were on the ice practicing. As the teams begin working together the lines will begin to form, we will keep you up to date in the team breakdowns of the news surrounding those moves.

For those of you keeping track, here’s the break down in the medals race. I bet you can’t predict the top five without looking.

There you have it folks. Stay tuned for more coverage from the Olympics and on our Olympic Rangers as the men’s tournament gears up. Keep a smile on your face and continue cheering for your favorites. Remember, everyday is a great day when you have hockey.
