Team Norway: First Look Before Sochi, Russia

Team Norway announced their Olympic roster for Sochi, Russia without much of a ripple in the USA. The Norwegians have a team unknown in the USA, but still well represented on the international level. Mats Zuccarello-Aasen, of the New York Rangers is the only NHL player on the Norwegian team. Norway is represented by players competing in several European leagues. Team Norway has 11 returning players from four years ago in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2010, Morten Ask was named to the team but was unable to compete due to injury. This year he is back on the team, and looking to make a difference.

Team Norway Has some glaring issues in their lineup. You may be screaming at me that Zuccarello is a Left Winger. Well he is listed as both, depending on where you look. With all the left-handed shooters Norway has on their team, they will need Zuccarello to be on the right-wing. Only three of their wingers are listed as dedicated left-wingers. The rest are left-handed shooters who have to find a place somewhere between right and center. There is no mention of a captain or alternate captain listed on an english site, that I can find, but one of our Norwegian fans helped out with what he knew (thanks Ole). Stay tuned for a break down of the team based on position.
