Olympics Digest: News From Sochi, Russia

Good Morning again everyone. We’ve had plenty of Olympic happenings so let’s get you to your morning news links.

Here is a pretty good run down on all things Olympics from yesterday. There are plenty of videos and it touches on NEARLY every sport. But I can’t, and I won’t, stop there.

If you are cheering for Team USA in these Olympics, there is one place to get all of you news with really great photos. You should check it out here.

Now, it’s not really reasonable for me to link you to every country’s website. I can if you’d like but most are in their native languages. However, Team Canada is a close competitor to the USA so here is their official site.

For those of you who have been watching the Olympics for several rotations, the name Evgeni Plushenko is not unfamiliar to you. Yesterday, nearly in tears, he announced his retirement in a most unfortunate way.

The freestyle competition was historic in many ways. This year was the inauguration and the finish had an all Team USA podium. It was a sweep of grand proportions, but exciting with every run.

The men’s Olympic hockey tournament is in full swing and has been very good so far. You can keep track of the official standings here. We will also be bringing you news from our perspective as well.

If you’re interested, here’s the medal count. DON’T LOOK IF YOU PLAN TO WATCH THE REPLAYS LATER TONIGHT. You have been given fair warning.

That’s a lot more than usual but hey, it’s been busy lately. Enjoy your day and the Olympic competition.
