Rangers' Blueshirts Daily: 2/27/14

IT’S FINALLY GAME DAY AGAIN!!!!!! The Rangers return to the ice tonight at Madison Square Garden against the Chicago Blackhawks and it’s been such a long wait.

This year the Rangers have made strides to get involved in the community. Defenseman, John Moore got out on the ice with a group of kids in Coney Island, and he took the newest Ranger, Kevin Klein with him. Additionally, the Rangers’ organization donated a lot of gear to the center and the kids.

Not too long ago, though more than a “New York Minute”, the Rangers sent players to the Olympics well above the  .500 mark and the second part of the season was a complete disaster. Henrik Lundqvist returned with a gold medal but failed to lift Lord Stanley’s Cup. Hopefully, this break won’t produce a repeat performance for the team.

With trade rumors swirling and the hockey world buzzing, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s forward and captain, Martin St. Louis addressed the press yesterday. He did not deny the rumors. This was his chance to end the rumors and he didn’t do that. Things just got really interesting.

To add fuel to the fire, Ryan Callahan’s agent, Steven Bartlett, confirmed he did not speak with the Rangers during the Olympic break at all. No progress has been made and one may be inclined to wonder if the deal is still on the table from the team side to Callahan.

There you have it fans. Todays news is just enough to get you ready for more reading and the game tonight! Stay tuned for some more great reading through out the day. We are back in full swing!
