Rangers' Round-up: 3/3/14

Well, it’s the day after another New York Rangers’ disappointing loss. There’s a lot going on in the NHL regarding contracts and trade murmurings. There are also other events worth noting today.

Today is Brian Leetch‘s birthday. He’s a New York Ranger elite, no matter where his career took him. He will always be a fan favorite and his number hangs in the rafters of the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden. Here’s a grey look at a player we all love.

Today it was announced that Ryan Callahan has reduced his contract demands. That’s mighty considerate of him, don’t you think? Callahan is currently earning an average of 4.275 million per year. Is he worth a two million dollar or more per year raise? What about the term? Well this is another look at things on the inside. A loss to the Boston Bruins could prove to be his last game as a Ranger. There are only two days left to get things figured out. They will be two very long days for sure.

Tonight is also Casino Night at Madison Square Garden. Did you get your tickets? This annual event is a huge fundraiser for the Garden of Dreams Charity.

There’s today’s news. I held off tip this evening to see if anything would be said about Callahan. Also because I wasn’t feeling well.  At any rate, there it is. We wait to see what happens in terms of the trade deadline and we wait even longer for the next game. Everyone keep calm, and be patient. It’s not the end of the world; no matter what happens.
