Hello New York Rangers fans! We’re back for another feature of the Rangers daily poll, tackling topics that are always hot and heavy in “Rangerstown”. Today’s question is one that’s got to do with the trade deadline, should the Rangers go after Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler?
As we move closer and closer to the NHL trade deadline, we receive word that Ryan Kesler, the 29 year old centerman from the Canucks has given the management a small list of teams that he would be content getting traded to, one of these teams was the Rangers. According to reports by the insiders at TSN, the current asking price for Kesler is a 20-25 year old established center, a prospect and a draft pick. The Rangers have all three of these pieces and have reportedly made an offer to the Canucks. Kesler only has 39 points on the season thus far, the same amount as Rangers center Derek Stepan, but Kesler is a veteran who has struggled this year under new coach John Tortorella and can do well with a change of scenery. Another thing be considered is that Kesler knows current Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault, and played for him in Vancouver. Could the relationship there be enough for Kesler to want to come to New York City?
Anyway, let us know what you think by taking part in the poll below!
