The New York Rangers are on the road again as they are hosted by the Winnipeg Jets tonight.
The puck drops at 8:00pm ET.
After losing to the Minnesota Wild last night, the Rangers have fallen to third place of the Metropolitan Division, behind the Columbus Blue Jackets. Remember when the trade partnership with the Rangers prompted fans to call the Blue Jackets “Rangers West”? Currently sitting with a 35-28-4 record, 74 points aren’t enough to keep the Rangers comfortable without more wins. Henrik Lundqvist resumes his net minding responsibilities tonight. He looks to better his 24-21-4 record and lower his .916 save percentage and his 2.51 goals against average. The team now shares a three way tie for the lead in points at 45 total. Brad Richards has 16 goals, Mats Zuccarello has 15 goals, and Derek Stepan has 12 goals. behind them are Ryan McDonagh and Derick Brassard with 36 points each. McDonagh has 11 goals and Brassard has 13 goals.
The hottest Rangers in scoring right now are Stepan with 10 points, including two goals, in the last eight games and McDonagh with six points in six games, including three goals. The Rangers are fully healthy, which feels great to say! Some how, some way, the Rangers have to find a way to win tonight. The Jets won the first meeting of these teams at Madison Square Garden in a 5-2 old fashioned tale kicking, let’s give it back to them this time!
