Rangers' Roundup: 3/14/14

It’s morning again Rangers fans. It’s not so good except that it’s FRIDAY and it’s another game day. Hopefully the Rangers get things moving in the right direction starting with tonight.

Have you ever wanted to see your favorite player receive a special award? Do you know about the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award? Now is the time to vote for which member of the Rangers’ roster you think deserves that honor. Vote now through 6 April as many times as you like and get entered into a contest for a really cool prize!

We have yet to see the Rangers’ newest defensive acquisition, Raphael Diaz, hit the ice for a game. Adding more depth isn’t a bad move for the Rangers, and it might remind you of last year’s blockbuster trade. I don’t think anyone thought the boys from Columbus would turn into the type of players they would get attached to, afterall “they are the reason we lost Gaby”. A little over a year later, I’d say Glen Sather won that trade.

For those of you keeping track, Ryan Callahan scored his first goal with the Tampa Bay Lightning, yesterday. He’s been playing on a line with Valtteri Filppula, formerly of the Detroit Red Wings. Many ignore Filppula as an “old guy” though he has never had a season that did not result in a playoff berth. Callahan has moved on frm the Rangers, though you shouldn’t feel upset for him goingto another team; he is in a good place.

Alright everyone, it’s time to get busy getting your game day routines in full swing. We need to get back on track ASAP!
