New York Rangers' Roundup: 3/21/14

It’s game day again for the New York Rangers, FINALLY! The team is preparing for tonight’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. These are two very important points up for grabs in this conference showdown and two more tomorrow against the New Jersey Devils.

Tonight, Rick Nash will make his first appearance in Columbus since the infamous trade in June 2012; things just got interesting. Here is the info on that but notice also who Nash mentions as a possibility for the next captain… It’s a good name.

Another former Blue Jacket, Derick Brassard, enters tonight’s game following a three-point, two goal, night in Ottawa on Tuesday. Before the Olympics Brassard, and line-mate Mats Zuccarello were on extended point streaks and making a huge impact on the team’s performance. Zuccarello also got back on the point sheet in Ottawa. With the introduction of Martin St. Louis to their line, things could be ready to break wide open for all three. Brassard is looking forward to playing in Columbus again so it should be a great game.

Benoit Pouliot was not at practice yesterday due to the birth of his daughter, as reported yesterday. He is expected back with the team but the logistics of getting there are uncertain. If he is not able to catch up with the team, Derek Dorsett will skate in his place. It will be Dorsett’s first game after the last four healthy scratches.
