Good evening New York Rangers fans! In just a few hours, the Rangers will take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Rivalry Night at Madison Square Garden. However, before they get into the game, you all have to vote in the poll! Do you think J.T. Miller is a suitable replacement for Chris Kreider?
As reported by various media outlets and the Rangers organization, rookie forward Chris Kreider suffered a hand injury last Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, he will not play in tonight’s game and will not travel with the team on it’s four game road trip through the western part of North America. To respond to the issue, the Rangers have called up J.T. Miller from the Hartford Wolfpack and he will play in tonight’s game in Kreider’s place. However, is Miller fit to replace Kreider? Miller is averaging a point per game with the Wolfpack and is arguably the best player there. While Kreider only has 37 points in his 66 games played this season he is a rookie and does make other contributions to the lineup with his speed and strength. However, if Miller was left in the AHL this season by head coach Alain Vigneault there was obviously a reason for that and if Kreider’s injury turns out to extend into the playoffs, will Miller be ready to handle the pressure of being a top six forward?
Rangers fans, what do you think? Can Miller be a good replacement for Kreider? Vote in the poll below and let us know how you feel!
