Good afternoon New York Rangers fans! Who is ready for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers?! It is sure to be a major battle, and not something anyone wants to miss. Before we get to game coverage, let’s get the news out first.
Chris Kreider is out of the line-up tonight against the Flyers with a hand injury. The injury was sustained during the third period of Monday night’s game against the Phoenix Coyotes. The Flyers have already run with the news of Kreider’s absence and they seem to have news of their own regarding the roster.
In Monday night’s game, the Coyotes’ net minder, Mike Smith, left the ice early with assistance from teammates and the trainer. Derick Brassard was pushed into Smith by Coyotes’ defenseman, Derek Morris. Smith was seen by doctors in Pittsburgh, the team’s next stop on their road trip, regarding his knee and it was better news than anticipated.
Former Rangers, Ron Duguay and Nick Fotiu, will be present at a fund-raising event for a Monroe High School hockey player who was injured while playing. If you are able to get to iPlay America please go help raise money for Michael Nichols. He fractured a vertebra in his neck and requires much rehabilitation. There are a whole host of activities and things for you to do at a great price so go help out! Check out all the details here.
That should be enough to get you going for today! You know we will be bringing you pre game coverage throughout the afternoon and the post game wrap up will follow the game. Our new “Three Stars” feature will run tomorrow morning. Now get your game face on and prepare for a heated rivalry game tonight. A regulation win could put some space between the Rangers and the Flyers in a VERY tight playoff race.
