Puck drop is set for 8pm ET and it’s the NBCSN rivalry night game of the week.

The Rangers enter tonight’s contest in second place of the Metropolitan Division with a record of 40-29-4 and 84 points. They are one point ahead of the Flyers, who have two games in hand over the Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist gets the start in net tonight and is looking to continue his winning ways. With a 29-22-4 record Lundqvist boasts five shut outs on the season with a 2.43 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. Mats Zuccarello and Derek Stepan lead the team in points with 15 goals for 50 points each; Zuccarello has five fewer games than Stepan though. Brad Richards has lost some traction and his 17 goals for 47 points have him in third place on the team. Ryan McDonagh surged with 13 goals for 42 points; three game winning goals and three short-handed goals. Derick Brassard‘s 17 goals for 41 points have him right in the thick of the leaders. Rick Nash‘s 23 goals still have him in the team lead though Brassard, Richards, Carl Hagelin, and Chris Kreider are all tied at 17 behind him.

J.T. Miller was called up from the Hartford Wolf Pack this morning to fill in for the injured Chris Kreider. In 28 games with the Rangers this season Miller has three goals for six points. in his 35 games with the Wolf Pack, Miller registered 12 goals for 37 points; three points behind team leader Oscar Lindberg who has 30 more games.

The Rangers are tallying hits left and right and have five active players over the 100 mark. Dan Girardi leads the team with 175 hits, followed by Brian Boyle with 141, Benoit Pouliot with 122, Brassard with 116, and now Zuccarello joins the group with 101 hits. When it comes to blocking shots, Girardi is still the second goalie with 159 blocks and McDonagh has 123 blocked shots. Boyle has more blocks than any other forward with 52 to his credit.

Though he skated this morning, John Moore will not play tonight. He is still battling his “concussion-like symptoms” but said that he feels much better according to the team twitter account. Reports are that Miller will play and Daniel Carcillo will be out due to the flu. Tonight the Rangers need to see continued success from McDonagh who has six points in the last four games and Brassard who has five points over the last four games. The Flyers will be without Steve Downie, suffering from a lower body injury, tonight.
