Good afternoon New York Rangers fans and happy game day! The Rangers start their four game western road trip in Calgary tonight against the Flames. However, as always before we get to the game there’s a poll you all have to take, and I’m curious to know what you all think. How many points can the Rangers get on this four game road trip?
Here’s some important things to note before thinking about the answer to this question. Rangers rookie and top six forward Chris Kreider will not accompany the team on the trip, he suffered a hand injury and is staying in New York according to the team. Seeing as how none of the games are back to back we could see Henrik Lundqvist, who has returned to full form as king play every game on the trip. In December, in the middle of that dreadful home-stand, the Rangers played the Flames at Madison Square Garden and won 4-3 in a seven round shootout. The Rangers played the Edmonton Oilers in February at the Garden and lost 2-1, Edmonton is the second city on the trip, after Calgary. After the swing through Alberta the Rangers will travel to Vancouver to play the Canucks. In November, at the Garden Alain Vigneault and Cam Talbot bested John Tortorella and the Canucks 5-2. The last stop on the trip, finds the Rangers back in the United States in the mile high city where they will take on Patrick Roy, Semyon Varlamov, and the Colorado Avalanche. The Rangers beat the Avs by a score of 5-1 at MSG in February.
Looking to keep their win streak intact, and to grab a more solid hold on second place in the metropolitan division, the Rangers travel out west. How many points can the Rangers get on their trip? Vote in the poll and let us know what you think!
