Good evening New York Rangers fans and happy game day! Tonight the Rangers are in Edmonton to take on the Oilers in the second game of their four game western road trip. However as always before we get to the game we must do the poll! So here’s the question, with Cam Talbot confirmed starting in tonight’s game, should that mean Henrik Lundqvist should get the final six games of the season?
After struggling for the first half of the season, and even being outshined a bit by rookie goaltender Cam Talbot, Henrik Lundqvist has reemerged as the top goaltender in New York City and a top goaltender in the league. However, should that instantly mean that Lundqvist should start the remaining games (not including tonight’s)? The Remaining opponents are the Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, and Montreal Canadiens. Of those six remaining games, Talbot has played three of those six teams at least once, and won every time. Lundqvist played the other five at least once, beating Colorado, Ottawa, Carolina, Buffalo one time and losing to Carolina and Montreal (he played against those two teams twice, one win and one loss). I guess having to decide which goaltender to start with is a good problem for the Rangers to have at this stage of the game, obviously Lundqvist is the number one, but it’s nice to have Talbot there just in case.
Anyway New York Rangers faithful, what do you think? Not including tonight’s game against Edmonton, should Lundqvist the final games of the season? Vote in the poll below and let us know what you think!
