New York Rangers Roundup: 3/31/14

Good Morning New York Rangers’ fans! It’s a beautiful day with a glorious Rangers win to revel in this morning. Cam Talbot got his third shut out of the season, and it was really super easy for him. He did have a lucky break in the first period but that’s ok!

Sometimes after a game such as last night, it’s interesting to see how the other side takes the loss. I’d say this piece says it all. It’s a very honest look at the hometown team and their performance. It’s not complaining about the referees or bad calls or unfair things that happened on the ice. It’s a clear breakdown of the Oilers’ broken performance.

It’s been a really tough couple years for Dominic Moore. After losing his wife to cancer, he took some personal time and has really come back to hockey on a mission. Yesterday, the news came out that the Professional Hockey Writer’s Association nominated D Moore for the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy. D Moore spoke out and mentioned his wife’s perseverance through her battle and how honored and humbled he felt about receiving the nomination.

Since the Olympic break, Derek Stepan seems to be playing on a different level. A centerman struggling for most of the beginning of the season, Stepan had many wondering if his contract hold out was worth missing training camp and the preseason. Without getting into that debate, it is a fact that last night he set a career high in points for a single season. There’s nowhere for him to go, this season, but up in points as he continues to battle Mats Zuccarello for the team lead in points.

There you have it folks! We have some other great articles coming up for you today so stay tuned for what’s in store. Keep your smile with you and let everyone know how much you love your New York Rangers!
