Last night the New York Rangers faced the Colorado Avalanche without their number one defenseman, Ryan McDonagh. The defense played a really smart game and John Moore returned

from his concussion with a bang; scoring a goal just after only two minutes of play. The teams were very evenly matched through regulation play but the Avalanche turned up the intensity towards the end of the game; and were able to push for over time at the very end of regulation. The game came down to a shoot out and the Avalanche got the only goal.

The NHL three stars of the game were:

3) Tyson Barrie- in just over 20 minutes of ice time he had three shots on goal, he was able to tie the game with less than a minute to go, and he scored the only goal in the shoot out. Not a bad night for him at all.

2) Henrik Lundqvist- he played all 65 minutes of the game, he face 37 shots and allowed two goals, one short-handed, plus one in the shoot out. His save percentage was .946 on the night.

1)Semyon Varlamov- he left the ice at the end of regulation for an extra attacker so he logged 63.42 in ice time, he faced 31 shots and allowed two goals, and his save percentage was .935 for the night.

It’s hard to disagree with these stars, it’s also hard to pin blame on anyone for a bad game, let’s give it a try anyway.
