Good evening New York Rangers fans! It’s time for another installment of Belvin’s Bandwagon! The games I’m going to use from this week are Tuesday’s 3-1 victory against the Vancouver Canucks, Thursday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche, and Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators. Well without waiting any longer, let’s get to the bandwagon and my likes and dislikes for this week!
LIKE: John Moore and Mats Zuccarello. Although Moore only played two of the three games mentioned, he played both of those games very well and registered two points in the games against Colorado and Ottawa. Moore scored the Rangers first goal of the game in Denver off of a hard shot from the point that sailed right by Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov and into the back of the net, he registered an assist Saturday night when his slap shot his Zuccarello’s stick, and deflected into the net. While Moore’s development is a process, one day he will be a force of a defenseman and I’m happy to see him excel. Mats Zuccarello, no stranger to this list has carried the Rangers all season long, he leads the team with 57 points and has seven points in the last five games, four in the last three games and is picking up for his own slack after going through a scoring drought.
DISLIKE: Brad Richards. Now that the Rangers have finally clinched a playoff spot, it’s official that Richards needs to step up his game. He whined and cried since his arrival in the big apple that he could use his best friend Martin St. Louis in New York and now that he’s finally gotten him he’s fallen off the map. As I said, going into the playoffs the Rangers really need one of their three Stanley Cup winners to step up and lead the way deep into the playoffs.
Anyway Rangers fans! That’s this week’s bandwagon! Let us know what you think by commenting below or tweeting us @bluelinestation!
