New York Rangers Daily Roundup: 4/8/14

Good afternoon New York Rangers fans and happy game day! In a few hours the Rangers will take on the Carolina Hurricanes but before they get to that there’s some news about your favorite team that you should know about! If you haven’t already heard, the Rangers have called up winger Jesper Fast from the AHL, if you want to read all about Fast so you know what to expect in tonight’s game you can do that here.

Since the trade deadline, the Rangers have gone 5-for-52 on the power play in 17 games. After soaring to a great start on the power play at one point even being the 8th best power play in the entire NHL, the Rangers power play has fallen out of the top 10 and has really turned into more of a power nap. It seems to me to look a lot like last season’s power play, want to read up on that? You can do that here.

Do you miss Ryan McDonagh? I know I do. After suffering a shoulder injury last Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks, the Rangers star defenseman has yet to return to the line-up, but has told reporters that he WILL make it back for the playoffs. The question however is will he return to the roster for one of the three games before the playoffs? Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault has something to say about that, check it out here.

Last but not least, last night the Rangers clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs! With the 1-0 loss by the New Jersey Devils to the Calgary Flames, the Rangers are officially headed to the post-season for eight time in nine seasons, tied for the most in Eastern Conference. If you want to read up about that you can do it here.

Well Rangers fans! That’s the news! Keep an eye on the site and LETS GO RANGERS!
