My Third Star:

New York Rangers forward Brian Boyle (22)  Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Brian Boyle:

While Boyle didn’t score a goal or register an assist, he made his presence known on the ice. He won three of five faceoffs for a 60% rating and he registered four hits. Boyle played 13:45 and 2:00 of that was penalty killing minutes. He was assessed one minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Sabres Matt D’Agostini was instigating but neither dropped mitts. Boyle had a few strong scoring chances and played a very tough game for the Rangers. He won a LOT of battles against the boards and never quit on a play.
