Strengths:

Benoit Pouliot is a strong presence on the best line for the New York Rangers. He is quick enough to anticipate passes and plays from Mats Zuccarello, which a lot of the time, work out in that line’s favor. He is not afraid to go in front of the net to screen the goalie and wait for a deflection. He is excellent on the power play and really works to find the “holes” in the opponents’ defense to help set up lines to shoot from. He has also come a long way defensively. He has become a stronger player and is engaged in the system now.

Weaknesses:

Benoit Pouliot needs to become a bit more aggressive on the ice, when it comes to checking the opponent. Being on the best line as well, I think he needs to score more, when he has a player like Zuccarello looking to make plays with him. Also, him and The New York Rangers need to remain tough because teams will be coming for them.

Post Season Prediction:

Hopefully in the post season, Benoit Pouliot just continues to grow as an exceptional player. Hopefully he will register some more points through goals and assists. He belongs on the line with Zuccarello to continue to maximize both his and Zuccarello’s potential. They have chemistry about them, which that entire line does. I think with a great ending to the season for the team and Pouliot, we can continue to predict that he will be energized and ready to go for the playoffs
