Belvin's Bandwagon - New York Rangers Playoffs

Hello New York Rangers fans we’re back with the second installment of Belvin’s Bandwagon for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs! This feature will cover games three, four, and five and discuss who I like and dislike for those three games. The Rangers currently lead the series three games to two, taking two of the last three games. However, without any further discussion let’s get to it!

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

LIKE: Dominic Moore. If there is one player that has exemplified the class of the Rangers all season long, it’s been Dominic Moore. He’s been one of the best Rangers these playoffs. In the three games mentioned, Moore has registered three points, two goals and an assist, and has been without question the Rangers hardest worker. During game four he seemed to be the only player on the team who wanted to show up to that game and scored the team’s only goal. He scored the game winning goal in game five and assisted on Brian Boyle‘s empty net goal.

DISLIKE: Derick Brassard, Benoit Pouliot, and Mats Zuccarello. Where did these guys go? The line that combined for almost 150 points this season took the first five games off, except for one shining moment in game two. These last three games they’ve been invisible, and have been very afraid to get on the puck and attack the play. Brassard registered 12 points in 12 playoff games last season, where is that this year? This series could arguably be already over if this third line that held the Rangers up all season long showed up for at least one period of game four. The argument that we should give them the benefit of the doubt because of the physicality of the Flyers isn’t good enough for me because they are the only line not producing.
