The New York Rangers Need To Wake Up

At the conclusion of a painful game six, the New York Rangers, lost 5-2. Now believe me, I think there are many calls that have gone unnoticed throughout the entire series, including this game. However, I don’t believe the loss should be blamed on the referees or Henrik Lundqvist tonight. In fact, I think the entire team looked flat. Where I think we lost the game was with our special teams. For a game that could have won the series, the Rangers looked like they didn’t want to win at all.
To sum up the power play tonight, it was atrocious. Philadelphia made adjustments to their penalty kill after watching hours of video, according to the announcers. The Rangers need to make adjustments to counteract the changes the Flyers made. Neither unit of the power play was effective, nor have they been recently. The penalty kill was also all over the place.
Also, The New York Rangers are said to have the speed in this series. That was not evident tonight. I am not a fan of Wayne Simmonds, but he got himself a hat trick tonight because he stood in front of the net. It is said that good things happen when you go to the net, so why haven’t the Rangers been doing that? There were many missed opportunities on rebounds and deflections in tonight’s game, because nobody is there.
As a hopeful fan, I’m going to think that maybe the New York Rangers just want to win the series in Madison Square Garden. The only way they are going to do that is if they wake up ready to play tomorrow. Philadelphia is going to bring a tough game to New York because it is obvious they are hungry to win. So the question is, who wants it more? Our “Broadway Blue Shirts” or the”Broad Street Bullies”.
