As we draw near to the opening game of round two for the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, we get anxious. The first round is behind us and we are looking ahead to round two. We’ve already posted our series preview of the Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins so go check it out.
Given the necessity of game seven against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Rangers find themselves in the midst of a long run of games. To be exact, the Rangers will play six games in nine days. It’s going to be a rough haul for the Rangers but that’s ok. Perhaps it will keep the team moving and not let them get stale. They are the busiest team in the NHL right now. It’s ok, we can take it!
Rather than discuss strategy and professionalism as a coach, Dan Bylsma was clear in saying his plan is banking on wearing the Rangers out physically. Remember in the Olympics when Mike Babcock out coached Bylsma? I think Alain Vigneault can handle this one. Doing what he does best, Pat Leonard covers the head to head on this situation.
For those of you looking for tickets to games here’s something interesting for you to read. The Penguins’ ticket prices in round two have the largest discount off the face value… I wonder why? It’s an easy way to sell out the arena fast. But here is a different take on the situation.
There is your daily update and and the run down on what’s going on for right now. Let’s enjoy this series, it looks like it will be a good one. Surely we will all be frustrated by announcers and the referees, for a variety of reasons. We will have countless heart attacks in this series, and in each game. In the end we will love our boys for the effort the show on the ice.
