The last of the big three restricted free agents has been locked up for this season.
As reported by NHL.com along with other various media outlets and twitter, centerman Derick Brassard has inked a five year deal with the New York Rangers worth $25 million . He are multiple sources from the Twitter world regarding Brassard’s signing:

With his signing, it looks as though the Rangers lineup is secured for this season. The first through fourth line centers are etched on head coach Alain Vigneault’s lineup card, heading into training camp in September.
In my opinion, the $5 million per year cap hit for Derick Brassard is about right. I’d rather overpay for him then say Benoit Pouliot or go out and bring another outsider. At least general manager Glen Sather, the team, and fans know what they are getting with Brassard. Night in and night out, he has shown the drive to win, willingness to bang bodies, and do what it takes to get the job done.
With Mats Zuccarello returning to the fold next season, Derick Brassard’s signing keeps the magic from last year intact. The potential to go over the top is there.
He is already a welcome sight to most fans. A New York Rangers company already had a slogan pick out for Derick Brassard. You may have seen it on their t-shirts, available on their website www.webleedblue.com. Their take on Brassard is, “Pass Like Brass”.

I am sure with his signing, orders will be through the roof. Hopefully, his season will too!
