New York Rangers Laugh It Off (Video)

After another long week of work, it’s the weekend. To most of us, it’s a welcome relief. It’s the last eight hours of a sometimes, grueling occupation. The fuss, the office politics, the drama. We want to escape.

For you, we wanted to share a lighter side of the New York Rangers. Besides, life gets boring when you are serious all the time. Sometimes you need to just get away from it all. Be yourself.

With the upcoming NHL season still a couple of months away, the withdrawals are kicking in. From October through April, there is hockey. However, it’s the offseason. Ice rinks remain untouched and stadium seats are empty. Fans of the sport have just one question, “Is it October yet?” The answer: not yet. However, there is something that can help get us through the ordeal. That’s to laugh.

So to help you through the last eight hours of work and Rangers withdrawals, we would like to share some funny scenes from our New York Rangers team. Some of the clips feature players having already settled into new teams. Despite that, it is still fun to look back at the antics. Whether they are current or former Rangers, there is no denying they had fun.

In 2012, the NHL held their annual awards show in Las Vegas, NV. One segment was a spoof on HBO’s 24/7 series, “Road to the Winter Classic.” In it, audiences were introduced to an unknown Ranger. Watch and see.

Take this clip by Yahoo Sports’ Puck Daddy from the same series. The New York Rangers were having a Christmas party. The main characters were former Rangers such as Brandon Dubinsky, Brian Boyle, and Ryan Callahan. You may recognize others. Actually, most of the video are former players on Broadway.

It’s not always serious with the New York Rangers. They are flesh and blood, like you and I. On the ice they are warriors in blue and try to put their best foot forward. Away from the ice, they are just human. However, it’s this side that we rarely see.

Have a good Friday and enjoyable weekend.
