Hello New York Rangers fans! First off I would like to welcome you all back to the daily poll here at Blue Line Station! Training camp for the Blueshirts is only a couple of weeks away and it’s finally a good time to look back on the off-season and reflect on what general manager Glen Sather has done. Today’s question will be, are you happy with what Glen Sather has done this off-season?
This was a very interesting offseason for Sather and the Rangers. First we started off with losing Anton Stralman, Benoit Pouliot, Brian Boyle and Derek Dorsett. However, they replaced these players by bringing in players like Dan Boyle, Matthew Lombardi, Lee Stempniak, Kevin Hayes, Tanner Glass, and are expecting certain youngters like J.T. Miller, Ryan Haggerty, Oscar Lindberg, Dylan McIlrath, Danny Kristo, Connor Allen, and Jesper Fast to shine during training camp.
The roster seems like it’s changed a lot and its starting to shape up that the battle for roster spots during training camp will be one for the history books, with almost 10 players competing for four spots on the bottom six of the roster, anything goes. Especially when you consider that Ryan Malone, the former Tampa Bay Lightning player who was recently arrested on charges of DUI and cocaine possession, is rumored to make an appearance at the Rangers training camp. There are so many players trying out for so few spots, head coach Alain Vigneault and his staff really have their work cut out for them.
Personally, I’m happy with what has gone on this off-season, it’ll make for an interesting training camp and a season in which players know that they can be replaced. However, this isn’t about me, it’s about you! So I want you all to tell me, are you happy with what Glen Sather has done this season? Vote in the poll below!
