Welcome to the Saturday edition. Well New York Rangers fans, we made it to the weekend. Time to relax, kick our feet up, and watch some NFL Preseason or the PGA championship. Or, what’s new on Lifetime. Pick your poison.

Whatever you watch this weekend, we thank you for dropping by. Here is the news we wanted to share around the NHL.

Feeling good about Rangers prospects in the KHL- BLUESHIRTSUNITED.COM

In yesterday’s Daily Dose, we highlighted the announcement of Nickolai (or Nikolai) Bobrov being named Head of European Scouting.

He provided some insight to two of the Rangers prospects playing in the KHL.

Having spent time in the league at the team and managerial levels with Slava Fetisov, Bobrov has insight about two of the Rangers future players.

Bobrov had high-praise for Pavel Buchnevich. The Rangers third-round selection in 2013 decided to stay in the KHL for another year. Our very own Anthony wrote a piece on his decision to stay overseas.

According to the above article on BLUESHIRTSUNITED.COM, Bobrov described the prospect as being a positive ‘surprise’, and that staying another year in the KHL to help his development won’t hinder him as a player.

He also offers about Rangers goaltending prospect Igor Shesterskin, describing him as “truly one of the brightest goaltenders in Russia today”.

Bobrov should know, he was in the same organization as the goaltender with SKA St. Petersburg.

Bobrov was an influence in bringing David Krejci to the Boston Bruins.

Hopefully, with his addition, he will be able to break the tight restrictions that have been making news with players leaving the KHL.

Capitals making VR a reality- THEHOCKEYNEWS.COM

More from Rangers News

Capitals owner Ted Leonsis is ushering a training tool that might be used by other NHL clubs.

In an article posted Thursday, it seems the use of virtual reality as a practice tool will become a reality, at least in the Capitals organization

STRIVR Labs Inc. is the company that will bring this futuristic feature to the hockey team.

"STRIVR Labs Inc., a company that specializes in virtual reality technology, to change the way they approach player development. The technology will also be used in-arena to improve the game-day experience, according to the Capitals"

Capitals defenseman John Carlson said that the virtual technology will “…going to help me fine tune my decision making in games and allow me to train as if I’m at practice without having to be on the ice.”

Hmmm. Though it is a novel idea, one has to wonder if it will be taken seriously. Some players might sneak in a game or two of NHL 16, virtual reality style?

And that’s the news for today. Thanks for dropping by and see you all tomorrow.

Have a great weekend!
