In case you missed out, here’s what’s been happening over the past week at Blue Line Station.

The New York Rangers hopefuls have been battling it out against other NHL hopefuls in Traverse City, and it hasn’t been pretty. The Rangers prospects fell 5-2 to the Minnesota Wild‘s prospects on day one. Then on day two they lost again, 2-0 to the St. Louis Blues. Things aren’t looking too well, especially for Keegan Iverson who had wanted a better start. Here’s what we had write about Iverson and all of the prospects in Traverse City so far.

It wasn’t actually all doom and gloom however as head coach, Ken Gernander, saw improvement in a few of his guys. According to Blueshirts United, Gernander said, “[Iverson] played a strong game. I thought Brady Skjei played a strong game. Tambellini’s game was better tonight than the first night. A lot of guys improved, so hopefully that’ll put us over the hump if we can show that same improvement going into Game 3.” We’ll be keeping tabs on Monday.

Moving right along, we also focused on a few of the current Blueshirts, two of which will be serving their second year as a Ranger this season – Kevin Hayes and Keith Yandle.

With both Hayes and Yandle having to avoid the sophomore slump, we wondered who out of all of the Rangers would have the most to prove? Turns out it’s not either of them, but someone who has been around for a while. And would the Rangers need any AHL backup in case one of our Rangers fail?

A lot of hockey fans allover the globe are looking forward to the third World Cup of Hockey ever. The Canadians are the current champs. Henrik Lundqvist is hoping to join Team Sweden to take that top spot away while Ryan McDonagh, Derek Stepan and Chris Kreider might help Team USA win it.
