Welcome back to the Tuesday edition. It was great to see the New York Rangers back in action, albeit preseason. But at this point, who cares.

It’s hockey, it’s Madison Square Garden, it’s the Blueshirts. Those are all that matters.

We would be neglecting our duties to you, the fans, if we missed our daily news. So, without further a due, let’s get into the headlines:

Raanta trying to keep the peace- NYPOST.COM

The newest member of the Rangers goaltending family, Antti Raanta, has been putting out fires, since he left the Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks.

Ever since previous comments were revealed to the affect that he was hoping for his former team to bounced out of the Stanley Cup playoffs last season so he could return to his home country of Finland, he has been paying in spades.

In an interview with the infamous Larry Brooks, Raanta tried to clear the air:

"How it came out, I felt bad…I was just trying to express what I was feeling for one hour, one day after getting the news, but it [sounded] like the whole time the playoffs were on, I was hoping we were going to lose"

He goes on to say:

"I felt so upset about that…Hopefully people can understand and forgive me someday. I’m not that kind of a guy"

During their run to the Stanley Cup, the Blachkhawks had placed Raanta on their playoff roster, but was relegated to emergency backup, in the event starter Corey Crawford or backup Scott Darling were unavailable.

Watch what you say, Mr. Raanta. Things can be easily misconstrued, and used against you.

That’s the media for you.

Get to know the real Miller-time- THEHOCKEYNEWS.COM

Have you ever wanted to get to know the real J.T. Miller?

More from Rangers News

Well, an article on Sunday by Mark Malinowski could help you understand a little about the Rangers forward.

However, we must warn you, it is kinda dry on Miller’s part. However, he is a blue-collar guy. Drives a Dodge Durango, doesn’t read, and likes chocolate chip cookie dough for ice cream.

How can you not love the guy?

But, his background into the game of hockey at a young age is not like your traditional routes. He wasn’t surrounded by a crazed-hockey town. He was the first person in his neighborhood that played the sport, and his father built a rink for him to practice.

Big things are expected from the youngster from the small town of East Palestine, Ohio this season.

What’s there not to cheer for?

Torts to return to coaching- NHL.COM

Just when you thought he was out, they pull him back in.

That’s right fans, former Stanley Cup champion and Rangers head coach John Tortorella returns behind the bench for Team USA in next year’s World Cup in Toronto, Canada.

The official announcement was made during ESPN’s Monday Night Football game.

The most winningest American-born head coach with 446, Tortorella has served for three NHL clubs: Tampa Bay Lightning, Rangers, and last season two seasons ago with the Vancouver Canucks.

It will be interesting to see the dynamic of his coaching style with the United States roster. Ryan McDongh, Derek Stepan, and Chris Kreider are all mentioned as possible names to make the roster for 2016.

If they do, it will be just like old times, right guys?

And that’s a wrap for today. Check us out tomorrow for more interesting tidbits.

Remember, the Rangers are back at it tonight when they travel to the Wells Fargo Arena, to take on the Philadelphia Flyers in preseason action at 7:00 pm EST.

Take care everyone.
