The New York Rangers wrap up their preseason in Philadelphia. Roster candidates have one last shot to show they deserve to make the team.

Records:  New York Rangers: 3-2-0, Philadelphia Flyers: 1-0-3

Head to head: Rangers 1-0-0, Flyers- 0-0-1

Following last night’s overtime win in New York, the Rangers and Flyers square off again tonight.

After icing a veteran group at Madison Square Garden, Tuesday’s Ranger lineup throws the bubble players back into the mix. Rick Nash, Mika Zibanejad, and Ryan McDonagh all get the game off after scoring New York’s three goals last night.

With 21 forwards and 10 defensemen still here, the roster remains weirdly cluttered. More than half of the players making the trip to Philly haven’t locked down a spot yet.

Expect big cuts after the final horn sounds.

Though September 26th marks the end of the preseason schedule, the season doesn’t start until October fifth. The Rangers will fill the large gap between the preseason’s end and opening night with a team-building trip to Lake Placid.
