The New York Rangers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 6 – 1.

For a complete Box score click here

The Rangers welcomed their new additions to the ice tonight. Derick Brassard, John Moore, and Ryane Clowe put on their blue jerseys and came out with a bang. Their blue collar work was nothing but exciting. Brassard was huge on the power play coming up with a goal and 3 assists. Clowe added two goals (One on the Power Play) and an assist on a goal by Mcdonagh. Clowe had not scored at all this season for San Jose and only had 11 assists. Moore scored from the high slot under the arm of Fluery. Overall a great debut for three of the Rangers newest players.

The biggest surprise came from Brian Boyle. Boyle had a goal and 3 assists on the night. He had 2 points in his first 31 games this season and comes up with this production.

Aaron Asham drops the gloves with Tanner Glass for the first time by a New York Ranger in a very long time. I can’t remember the last time a Ranger dropped the gloves and fought for any reason.

The power play was everything that a Ranger fan could ask for. 3 for 4 on the man advantage manly on the backs of Brassard, Clowe, and dare I say Boyle?.

Overall, the newcomers bring heart and life to a Rangers team that many were ready to pull the plug on.

This win puts the Rangers in the 7th seed currently in the playoff hunt.

Friday brings the Rangers to Pittsburgh to play these same Penguins. Lets hope for a similar result and get 6 points on a extremely important week.

So I DVR’d the game bacause I didn’t want to ruin my afternoon. Well I just watched it and ruined my evening. Seriously Rangers, way to not even show up to this one.

I don’t even know where to begin with this recap. But since the Rangers put in a crappy effort with the game, I’m putting in a crapy effort with the recap.

The Rangers lost 3-0 today. They were so bad today that Crosby, Kunitz, and Neal didn’t get on the scoresheet. The Rangers were basically beaten by the Penguins bottom 6.

Do the Rangers have any pride? Heart and soul? I’m seriously questioning the team with their performance today. They looked like they didn’t even care.

The whole “defense leads to offense” thing stopped being cute a while ago. Go out and try to score some goals.

Tortorella really needs to adjust his system. He’s not playing to anyone’s strengths or weaknesses out there.

Henrik really needed to have those first two Penguins goals. Way too sharp an angle for them to be scoring from. Nonetheless though, he kept the Rangers in the game during the first period.

Huge games coming up for the Rangers. They lose the next two back to back games, then it’s seriously time to panic.
