9. 2017 Second Round, Game 6: Senators eliminate the Rangers

Going into this game at Madison Square Garden, the home team won the previous five in the series. This was a series that the Rangers could have won. They were more talented at forward and goaltender, but the Senators had the edge on defense.

The game started and the team could not put one in the back of the net and were trailing 2-0 before Mika Zibanejad provided a spark with six minutes left in the second period.  But, this goal was quickly nullified by Erik Karlsson, one of the best defensemen in the league.

Chris Kreider scored in the first minute of the third period to make the game 3-2, but that was as close as the Rangers got, pressuring the Senators the entire period but they could not find a goal. Ottawa ended up scoring an empty netter, the Rangers lost the series 4-2, and that was the last time they were in the playoffs the decade.
