My three Rangers stars of the game

Artemi Panarin

keeps driving the Rangers offense and the power play.   With four points, this was his biggest game of the season. Three of those points came in the first period when it was needed most.

  • Adam Fox keeps making Norris Trophy moves as he adds a shorthanded goal and two more assists to his season totals.  He led all skaters with 22 minutes of ice time.
  • Colin Blackwell gets the third star for his crucial first goal (lucky as it was) and for what he brought to the line with Panarin and Strome.  He added a power play assist on Kaapo Kakko’s goal in the third period.   He scored at even strength, assisted on power play goal and killed penalties in another excellent effort.
  • The official three stars

    1. Artemi Panarin
    2. Adam Fox
    3. Mika Zibanejad

    East Division

The Rangers jumped into a tie for fifth place with the Flyers, but gained no ground on the Bruins who beat the Flyers with their fourth string goalie. The Isles shut out the Capitals and moved into a tie for first.

A dangerous rematch is waiting for the Rangers on Thursday night as they face the Penguins for the last time this season.  That will be followed the next night with a big game against the Islanders at the Nassau Coliseum on  Friday night.
