The top 2021-22 candidates

Going into this season, the Vegas odds have been established and here are the top 12 picks:

  1. Trevor Zegras, C –  Anaheim
  2. Cole Caufield, RW – Montreal
  3. Lucas Raymond, LW – Detroit
  4. Alex Newhook, C – Colorado
  5. Vasily Podkolzin, RW – Vancouver
  6. Spencer Knight, G – Florida
  7. Moritz Seider, D – Detroit
  8. Quinton Byfield, C –  Los Angeles
  9. Vladimir Tkachev, LW -Los Angeles
  10. Nick Robertson, LW -Toronto
  11. Matt Boldy, LW – Minnesota
  12. Jamie Drysdale, D – Anaheim

Others rookies getting mentioned include Marco Rossi, C, of Minnesota, Connor McMichael, C,  of Washington, L.A.’s Arthur Kaliyev, RW, Cole Perfetti, C,  of Winnipeg, Phil Tomasino, C, of Nashville, Ottawa’s Shane Pinto, C,  and Jeremy Swayman, G,  and Jack Studnicka, C,  both of the Bruins.

Notice something about the list?  Not a lot of love for the Broadway Blueshirts who will have at least two rookies who will contend for a starting role and have to be considered outside shots at winning the Calder Trophy.
