Today, training camp for the New York Rangers started, as physicals and internal interviews done by Jim Cerny and the Blueshirts United staff took place at the MSG training center. Notable and missing from day one of training camp was RFA center, Derek Stepan, which to no surprise still doesn’t have a contract signed with the team, and from the looks of it, according to NY Post’s Larry Brooks, could take some time, and could bleed in for the first few preseason games.

Not something you want to hear going into the start of training camp, and the first game action happening 5 days from now.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Glen and company are trying hard to find a compromise, but we’ll talk more about this later.

Here’s a look at the training camp roster, provided by Rick Carpiniello:

"Forwards: Arron Asham, JT Barnett, Ryan Bourque, Brian Boyle, Derick Brassard, Taylor Burke, Ryan Callahan, Derek Dorsett, Anthony Duclair, Jesper Fast, Josh Graves, Carl Hagelin, Michael Haley, Marek Hrivik, Kyle Jean, Michael Kantor, Chris Kreider, Danny Kristo, Oscar Lindberg, Brandon Mashinter, JT Miller, Dominic Moore, Rick Nash, Josh Nicholls, Benoit Pouliot, Shawn O’Donnell, Darroll Powe, Taylor Pyatt, Brad Richards, Thomas Spelling, Michael St. Croix, Derek Stepan, Dyson Stevenson, Peter Trainor, Jason Wilson, Klarc Wilson, Andrew Yogan, Mats Zuccarello Defensemen: Conor Allen, Stu Bickel, Michael Del Zotto, Charlie Dodero, Troy Donnay, Justin Falk, Ben Fanelli, Dan Girardi, Ryan Graves, Tommy Hughes, Aaron Johnson, Ryan McDonagh, Dylan McIlrath, Joon Moore, Brendon Nash, Samuel Noreau, Jimmy Oligny, Marc Staal, Anton Stralman, Danny Syvret Goalies: Martin Biron, Johan Hedberg, Henrik Lundqvist, Jeff Malcolm, Jason Missiaen, Mackenzie Skapski, Scott Stajcer, Cam Talbot"

As Alain Vigneault said in todays interviews, he’s giving everyone on the roster a clean slate. Everyone gets a new beginning, a new outlook on their career. It’s up to them to grasp on to it or not.

There are five burning questions going into this years training camp, and we’re here to answer all of them. Starting now.
