The Eye Injury
On March 5 the Rangers played the Philadelphia Flyers. It is a moment that no hockey fan will soon forget, no matter how hard they might try. A fast moving puck deflected off the stick of Kimmo Timonen and picked Marc Staal up off the ice from impact. The damage done to the eye (the primary point of contact) would prove to be serious and the full extent of the injury was not disclosed for a very long time.
