Nick Holden

Previous Grade: B

With the Rangers’ defense needing some stability and consistency, Nick Holden has given it just that. The 29-year old defenseman has continued to play solid hockey at both ends of the ice since a rough start to his Broadway career.

In 62 games this season, Holden has produced nine goals and 19 assists, including five goals and nine assists since his last report card was published. His 19 assists are already a career high, and he is one goal short of tying his career high as well.

The key to Holden’s success has been his shift away from top-tier opponents. With the Rangers looking to add to their defense at the deadline, he could continue to see success. Holden has shaped up to be a steal for Jeff Gorton and company.
