The New York Rangers find themselves down 2-1 in their first round playoff matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. In order to climb out of the one game deficit, some key contributors must elevate their game to the next level.

If games two and three are any indicator of how the rest of the New York Rangers’ playoff games will go, the team is in for a short postseason. In order to regain control of the series and the fate of their season, the Rangers must get more production from some of the usual suspects.

Regular season standouts Chris Kreider and Kevin Hayes have failed to make an impact on any game of the series thus far. Meanwhile, Ryan McDonagh is troubled with the task of playing savior for the team. Blue Line Station examines these players, and more, that must heighten their game in order for the Rangers to succeed.
