Trading with an arch rival is never easily done. It’s hard to get fans to accept swapping any major pieces with a team that plays in the same city.

With that being said, I think if a deal were done between these two it would be fairly low profile.

Considering the needs of the Rangers, Ryan Pulock could be a great target for the Rangers to look at. He is young and doesn’t have much NHL experience, but he shows significant promise.

Pulock has been a force in the AHL. In 55 games this year, he had 46 points and a +10 rating. In 15 NHL games last year, Pulock had four points and a 51% corsi for.

The only challenge with this deal will be paying Pulock from the Islanders. He is obviously very valuable to them and the Islanders might demand a hefty return if they want to move him. It’s definitely a risk worth considering if you’re the New York Rangers.
