First Line-
The first line features Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad, and Pavel Buchnevich. None of the three players already have nicknames they typically go by, so let’s break them down one by one.
Chris Kreider- “The Package” or “He Was Tripped”
Mika Zibanejad- “Mikachu”
Pavel Buchnevich- “Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch”
If you’re wondering why we call Chris Kreider “The Package,” do a little digging or ask me on Twitter. “He Was Tripped” pulls from the XFL nickname “He Hate Me” and references the infamous Alexei Emelin trip on Kreider that knocked Carey Price out of the playoffs.
According to Wikipedia, Mika Zibanejad boasts various nicknames. However, my personal favorite is not on that list. I choose Mikachu!
As for Pavel Buchnevich, he has not played enough time to develop any nicknames. Until he does, we shall refer to him as “Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch.”
