Parting Ways With Rick Nash

The amount of heat Nash has taken over the past few seasons is more than most players in their entire careers. Once the superstar of the Columbus Blue Jackets, when Nash was traded to the Rangers a few seasons back, he wasn’t used to playoff hockey. And did he ever pay for that lack of experience…

However, as time has gone on and he has played in many playoff games in a Rangers’ jersey, he’s become a lot more productive. This last season, he played in all 12 playoff games and tallied three goals and two assists for five points.

Beyond his point production, he was solid in all three zones, had a spring in his step, and was a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention, he had a great regular season, as well. He had a total of 38 points (23 goals and 15 assists) in 67 games played.

The Rangers were smart to not say goodbye to Nash. He’s only 33, which means he still has life in him and a few good years left. While he may be expensive, he is definitely an integral part of this roster.
