The New York Rangers are off to a slow start this season. The team has been hurt by Alain Vigneault’s coaching and several players could benefit from a change behind the bench.

The New York Rangers expected more from this season’s team. GM Jeff Gorton did his best to give Alain Vigneault and his coaching staff a talented roster. However, the early results have been less than inspiring in return.

Time and time again Vigneault proves that he is incapable of deploying his team in a way to optimize their skills. This season, however, his tactics have been on display with both veterans and youngsters.

Kevin Shattenkirk, the team’s shiny, new toy has spent equal time paired alongside Ryan McDonagh as Nick Holden. Kevin Hayes Meanwhile, prospects such as Anthony DeAngelo and Filip Chytil have already seen their minutes mishandled.

It may be too early to call for the head coach’s job. However, there are several players that would benefit from a change in authority. These are five of those players.
