NEW YORK, NY – NOVEMBER 28: Chris Kreider /

Up: Chris Kreider

Chris Kreider is officially back and better than ever.

Yes, Kreider only has one point since his return from injury. However, he is playing like a man possessed. His energy level has been egregiously high and his compete level has followed suit. Where was this Kreider before the injury?

Well, the injury was plaguing him for longer than most people thought. Stated in a recent article, Kreider was dealing with symptoms from the blood clot way before he left the game on December 27th. At one point, he was even coughing up blood. Dealing with all of these issues while not knowing what was wrong left Kreider playing poorly and injured. This did not look like the player who had nearly 30 goals and almost 60 points last year.

Luckily, Kreider is beginning to look like his former self. He’s been aggressive with the puck, has gone hard into the boards, and is tenacious when going to the net. He especially seemed energetic in his first game back, and how could he not be? Just two months ago his hockey future looked bleak. Who would have expected him to come back so quickly?

I am tremendously excited for Kreider’s next season with the Rangers. I believe that once he is totally healthy, he will finally be able to eclipse the 30 goal mark.
