After years of trading away their future in hopes of a Stanley Cup, the New York Rangers are being forced to rebuild. Luckily, they have managed to acquire some good prospects along the way.

The New York Rangers are in a bit of a pickle. After years of contention, they have fallen apart at the seams and are looking to rebuild. After years of trading away prospects for veterans, the tables have turned. The Rangers have begun to unload their core players in favor of NHL hopefuls or draft picks.

Luckily, the front office has gotten better at holding on to draft picks. For the first time in five years, The New York Rangers were drafting in the first round. They had not only one, but two first round picks.

This year, the Rangers have three first round draft picks. Two acquired in trades and their own pick in the top 10. The only thing left to do is draft wisely and hope and pray that they pan out in the long run.

Even though the Rangers’ prospect pool is rather barren, there are still some gems to be found. Yes they are still hunting for that elite player to build around, but there are a decent amount of NHL caliber players waiting for their chance to show us what they’ve got.
