10/27/14: Duclair’s first goal fuels wild win

The Minnesota Wild came to visit the New York Rangers late in October of 2014, and they started out strong at MSG. The Wild were leading comfortably, 3-0, heading into the third period.

Then the wheels started to come off. Kevin Klein got the Rangers on the board less than three minutes in, and Rick Nash scored to make it 3-2 just minutes later.

However, Jason Zucker struck only 47 seconds later, taking the wind out of the Rangers’ sails and rebuilding the two-goal lead for the Wild.

From there, it was all Rangers. Derick Brassard potted his fourth goal of the season to bring the Rangers back within one, and then Duclair struck.

Duclair’s goal was the back-breaker for Minnesota. They collapsed, allowing Brassard to follow up with the game-winner just 30 seconds later.

While the Rangers eventually traded Duclair as part of the Keith Yandle deal, he helped provide a spark in a early win during one of New York’s best seasons ever.
